It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Unless you’re a college student, that is. While most of us are already feeling the Christmas spirit and have started our shopping, decorated our Christmas trees, or began baking Christmas cookies, etc., there are a bunch of college students out there who are so wrapped up in studying for finals and completing semester projects that they’re missing out on all the fun. That’s why we wanted to offer some great gift suggestions for parents of college students who would like to bring Christmas to the college dorms! There’s nothing better than receiving a package when you’re away at school and we have just the things to help bring a smile to your student’s face during this stressful time.
PMall.com’s Personalized Christmas Gifts Store has all sorts of great home decor that would look great in the dorms!
Personalized door banners like the Christmas Nice List (far left) and the Merry Christmas designs (left) are the perfect decorations for the dorm because they can be hung on the door and won’t take up any space in their already-cramped living quarters.
You can personalize the Nice List design with all the names of his or her friends who live on the floor and your student can hang a marker so their friends can write and leave messages that they’ll treasure year after year. The Merry Christmas design, which features an adorable snowman, can be personalized with your student and their roommate’s names or personalize it with the new club, fraternity or sorority they recently joined!
Help make your student’s all-nighter tolerable by including one of our Personalized Coffee Mugs in your Christmas care package. We have several designs to fit everyone’s taste but we recommend sticking with the Christmas theme and personalizing the Ghiradelli® Hot Cocoa Personalized Bistro Mug because not only will they receive a merry and bright new mug, they’ll love getting their own packet of double chocolate gourmet hot cocoa to warm their heart and their senses! If they’re going to be up all night studying, they may as well be doing it while enjoying delicious hot cocoa that will help give them a welcome boost at all hours of the night!
While PMall.com’s Christmas Gifts Store is full of great gift ideas to send to your son or daughter in the dorms, we thought we’d leave you with a great gift idea that will help you save money, too!
PMall.com’s Personalized Doormats are always a favorite among our customers and our Personalized Christmas Doormats have some of the cutest designs out there! Our doormats, like the adorable Welcome To Our Workshop design which features little elf feet, not only spread the Christmas cheer, they can also help you save some money by giving your student and their friends a place to wipe their boots and hopefully helping you get back some of your security deposit at the end of the school year! After all, taking all those trips to their classes, the library and the cafeteria can get boots pretty muddy. With a cute personalize doormat, you can prevent them from tracking all of that winter slush into their dorm room and ruining the carpet.
It’s time to start putting together a care package for your son or daughter in the dorms! Head over to our Personalized Christmas Gifts Store and have fun picking out what’s best for your student. Think of how nice it will be for them to take a break from studying and get a little taste of home this holiday season … you’ll be a hero!
Congratulations to Rhonda J Elfstrand - the winner of PMall.com’s Side Dishes That Steal The Show Recipe Contest!
Rhonda submitted her recipe for the tasty and popular Strawberry Pretzel Salad which turned out to be our favorite!
Here is the winning recipe:
“Mix 2 cups of crushed pretzels, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1/2 cup of melted butter and then press into the bottom of 9×13 pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees and allow the crust to cool completely before making the middle and top layers. Then beat 8 ounces of cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth. Fold in 8 ounces of Cool Whip until it is all incorporated. Spread the mixture evenly (beware the loose crumbs of the crust) on the cooled crust. For the top layer sprinkle 6 ounces of stawberry Jello on 2 cups of near boiling water into a large bowl and stir well. Carefully add 10-16 ounces of frozen strawberries and stir until Jello is slightly thickened (the frozen strawberries do a “quick set” of the Jello). Pour the mixture evenly over the middle layer, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until needed – at least two hours.”
This side dish has always been one of our favorites and we were so thankful that Rhonda shared it with all of us!
Thank you to all of our fans who submitted their favorite side dish recipes! Keep checking back here for the latest news and contests from PersonalizationMall.com!
We always feel bad for the stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, etc. … it’s almost as if we can picture the side dishes looking at the beautiful turkey and saying, “Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!”
But not this year!
This year is going to be different because PMall.com is moving the spotlight over with the “Side Dishes That Steal The Show” Recipe Contest!
We’re asking you to share your favorite side dish recipe with us for a chance to win a prize!
All you have to do to enter is send an email to email@example.com with the subject line “Thanksgiving Recipe Contest” with the following information:
- Your full name and an email address that we can use to reach you if you win the contest
- The name and recipe for your favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish and a few words about why you love it so much.
What are you playing for you ask?
That way you can cook in style the next time you’re preparing your favorite side dish!
We can’t wait to see all the recipes start rolling in!
This time of year feels like the calm just before the storm … it’s that little bit of time before the hectic Christmas shopping season begins. That’s why we wanted to remind you that now is a great time to start searching for, planning and taking pictures for the photo calendars you’ll be creating as Christmas gifts this year.
PMall.com’s Personalized Calendar Department is full of great design options for you to choose from so you can find the theme that best suits your personal taste.
Check out the Seasons Change Photo Wall Calendar (at left), which is always a customer favorite or take a look at our other photo calendars, including our newest design, the Picture Perfect Photo Wall Calendar.
Once you’ve selected your favorite calendar design it’s time to start uploading your photos! We always think the calendars turn out best when the theme of the photos compliments the month it will be shown with and since our calendars require at least 12 photos (some designs let you personalize each month with more than 1 photo), it may take some time to find the pictures that will fit perfectly with each month.
That’s why we thought we’d give you a heads up so you could start planning out your calendar now before the crazy Christmas season begins!
If you’re unsure of which photos to use for your calendar, take a look at the following photos we thought we’d share to help you get inspired:
A shot of the kids in their red, white and blue outfits watching the 4th of July parade would be the perfect photo for July:
Goofy faces can make the cutest photos. This silly photo of the kids on their first day of school is great to use for August or September:
It’s not too late to take a photo of your kids playing in the leaves, which would work well for October or November:

We hope we’ve been able to inspire you to create your own personalized photo calendar now while you have time before the Christmas rush! If you have any photo ideas for certain months please share them in the comment section!
You wonder how they came up with that creative family photo (like the photo at left), where they found the beautiful card or how they had the time to stuff each card with their photo and include a personalized greeting.
Forget about being jealous this year because we’ve got some cute family photo inspiration to share with you plus when you purchase cards from PMall.com’s Personalized Christmas Cards Store we make it so quick and easy you’ll wonder how you ever sent Christmas cards without us!
One of our most popular designs, the Our Family Gatefold Photo Christmas Card (at right), is a great way to feature one large family photo and your personalized holiday greeting. However we also offer several designs that feature a collage of photos in creative ways, so decide on how many photos you’d like to have and then select the best card.
Now it’s time to take a family photo that will stand out from the rest!
One of the cute trends going around this year is having strings of Christmas lights included in your family photo in some creative way. These are a few of our favorite examples:
There are so many adorable Christmas baby photos out there and we could never pick just one … but we did narrow it down to four of the cutest we’ve seen:
