Calling all family and friends of the bride-to-be! We know how stressful it can be to put together the logistics of a bridal shower, not to mention the immense pressure you feel to create a beautiful, special and memorable day that you know the bride will love. But never fear – PMall is here! We’ve put together some great tips so you have everything you need to help you host the perfect bridal shower!
These unbelievable, almost-too-pretty-to-eat Kitchen Cookies from The Adventures of Sugarbelle blog had us instantly inspired to come up with ideas for a kitchen themed bridal shower (we first saw the picture on Pinterest, but you can find the recipe and decorating tips for creating these beauties here). We think these pretty treats would not only add some fun to each table, they’ll also make great favors that each of your guests can take home with them!
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves – the first thing you need to do after setting a date and securing a location is work on the bridal shower invitations. But before we talk about creating beautiful bridal shower invitations like this, this or this, we need to go over the focal point of the kitchen themed shower.
The purpose of any bridal shower is to help the bride start off her married life with a kitchen and home full of everything she needs but with our personalized tips and ideas, you’ll also be helping her build a kitchen and home that’s hers.
The From The Kitchen Of… Personalized Recipe Cards, which come in both 3×5 and 4×6 sizes, or any of our other Personalized Recipe Card Designs will help you achieve both of those goals because while they do make a great gift (a gift that she’ll actually use!) all on their own … they will be extra special when you announce that you’ve had the bride’s family and friends fill them out with their favorite recipes!
In order to surprise her with this gift you’ll have to personalize enough cards (they’re sold in sets of 24) so you can include 1 or 2 of them with each of the bridal shower invitations (we also suggest personalizing an extra set of recipe cards that you can leave blank so when you present them to the bride she can add her own favorite recipes to her collection). When you’re creating the invitations, make sure to include a line somewhere on the invite that says “Please fill out the recipe cards and bring them to the shower. Write down 1-2 of your most favorite recipes to help us start the bride’s recipe collection!” Send the invites off and you’re well on your way to creating a one-of-a-kind gift that will be a bridal shower show stopper!
The final part of the gift is to personalize the From The Kitchen Of… Bamboo or Clear Acrylic Recipe Box for the bride. We suggest trying to match the theme of the recipe box to the theme of the recipe cards, however we also offer different designs for you to choose from in our Personalized Recipe Box Department, including a Personalized Recipe Binder that would also work well for this gift. These recipe boxes are excellent additions to anyone’s kitchen – the lids on the bamboo recipe boxes feature a slit that can hold a recipe card upright while you’re cooking and the acrylic recipe box lids not only hold the recipe cards upright, they also protect them from food splatter!
We suggest quietly collecting all of the recipe cards from the guests as they arrive so when the bride opens the recipe box you’ve personalized for her, you can surprise her with all of the recipe cards that her loved ones have filled out. Just think of how special it will be for her to receive secret family recipes, the directions for making her future husband’s favorite meal from his mom, or the recipe to her favorite dessert that her aunt makes and brings to every holiday party. You’re not only setting her up with a good start to a recipe collection, you’re giving her the opportunity to surprise her husband with his favorite dinner from growing up, or to recreate her favorite holiday meals that she’s enjoyed since she was a little girl – there won’t be a dry eye in the place!
Of course we also have a way for you to lighten the mood again – bridal shower games! Now stop groaning (yeah, we heard you!), these aren’t the same ol’ games that you’ve seen done a million times … they’re kitchen-themed and interactive! We loved all of the ideas they offered on this Kitchen Bridal Shower Games post, but especially the Spice Quiz. To set up the game you remove the labels from 10 jars of spices and assign each of them a number. Pass the spices around to each of the tables and ask the guests to guess which spice it is that they’re seeing, smelling, and (if they’re brave) tasting. The person with the most correct guesses wins and the bride can keep all the spices to stock her kitchen!

It’s almost time to shake your shamrocks!
Since St. Patrick’s Day is on a Sunday this year, we thought it would be fun to spend the day together making festive treats for your kids to bring in to school the next day.
We think these Leprechaun Hat S’mores that we saw on Pinterest are the perfect dessert to help you and your family celebrate the holiday (click the link to be directed to the Hostess With The Mostess Blog for the recipe).
We love how they’re whimsical and bite-sized – perfect for the kiddies. And since they’re so easy to make, you can turn it into a family project that even the little ones can help with.
There’s nothing like spending quality time together with your family on a holiday … especially when the outcome includes delicious desserts!
They’ll have the biggest smiles on their faces when they see that you customized the fun shamrock design on a t-shirt, sweatshirt or baby bib with their name and they’ll have a blast showing off their St. Patrick’s Day gear to all their friends!
Have them wear their new gear to the St. Patrick’s Day parade for a great photo opportunity, as well! While this design is our most popular, you can also check out the Lil’ Shamrock Gifts Department in our St. Patrick’s Day Gifts Store to see all of the adorable design options that we offer (we even have apparel for your dog!).
The leprechaun love doesn’t stop there – our Leprechaun Personalized Doormat is sure to also add to the fun this St. Patrick’s Day thanks to the warm welcome it offers. This cartoon-like design can be personalized with any 2 lines, however our favorite suggestion is to use your family name with “Top Of The Morning!” personalized right on top! No matter which personalization you decide on you’re sure to spread cheer to all your family and friends – they’ll love it so much they may even do a little jig!
For those of you who are Irish (or even if you’re not Irish) and want to proudly display your heritage on St. Patrick’s Day and throughout the entire year, you may be interested in our Irish Home Gifts Department. Browse through all of our slate plaques, picture frames, garden flags, barware, afghans, stationary gifts and more that feature an array of different Irish design themes. We have plenty of options so you’re sure to find a design that fits in well with your existing home-decorating style!
We hope you have fun preparing your home and children for fun this St. Patrick’s Day! If you have any other St. Patrick’s Day dessert recipes that you’d like to share, feel free to comment below or email us at email@example.com.
We instantly fell in love with the personalized cookie idea after we caught a glimpse of this photo (at left) on Pinterest - we just can’t believe we never thought of it ourselves! As you can see, the idea is to decorate one large cookie that says “I love you more than …” and have it laying on top of a dozen or so cookies that are each personalized with an example.
There are endless possibilities that you can work with when you’re decorating the cookies for your loved one, but one thing’s for sure – we know the perfect way to send or present them this Valentine’s Day … in our Sealed With A Smooch© Personalized Gift Tin! This adorable tin can be personalized with any 3-line message along with any 1 line of text at the bottom. For $26.95 you can personalize the gift tin so that it is filled with Hershey Kisses, or you can personalize the tin itself for just $19.95.
With the postcard-themed design, this tin is the perfect gift to send to your long-distance love any day of the year. We also love the idea of sending this tin to your boyfriend or husband at work on Valentine’s Day. Women are always having flowers, teddy bears, and other gifts delivered to them at work or at home on Valentine’s Day – and we think it’s about time that there was a non-feminine, romantic gift that was acceptable to send to your man. Men have been publicly expressing their love on this romantic holiday forever and now we have the perfect gift to help you return the favor. While having flowers or teddy bears delivered to his office may embarrass him, receiving delicious cookies in a sweet custom gift tin is sure to be the highlight of his day! We’re sure he’ll not only love the homemade treats, he’ll be proud to show off his wife or girlfriend’s baking skills to all of his coworkers, too!
If you’re worried about your cookie-decorating skills or if your Valentine prefers chocolate to sugar cookies we also have some other treat ideas to share with you! Thanks to the How To Nest For Less Blog, we found a great recipe for Stained Glass Heart Cookies! These cookies look beautiful and all you have to do is take a heart-shaped cookie cutter to a sugar cookie and fill in the space with pieces of crushed Jolly Rancher candy. After baking you’ll have a delicious and colorful cookie to give to your Valentine! Pinterest Tip: As we were browsing through all of the great Valentine’s Day dessert ideas on Pinterest we saw how some people had used two different colors of Jolly Ranchers to give their cookies a swirl or tie-dye look!
If your loved one is a chocaholic you should check out The Gunny Sack Blog’s recipe for White Chocolate M&M’s Valentine’s Day Cookie Bars. The recipe is super easy because the crust is actually made from a cake mix. The recipe also calls for white chocolate chips and Valentine’s Day M&M’s – we love how the M&Ms turn the bars pink and red! If these bars don’t have enough chocolate for your valentine, we suggest heading over to PMall.com’s Valentine’s Day Gifts Store where you’ll find chocolate fondue sets, candy jars filled with Hershey Kisses and more!
Do you have a special Valentine’s Day treat that would also look great in our personalized gift tin? We’d love to hear it! Post your recipe or thoughts in a comment below or send them to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Recently one of PMall.com’s fans shared a story on our Facebook Fan Page. Her name is Aprille and her story was so touching we knew that we had to share it will all of the rest of our fans (please continue reading for the link to Aprille’s full blog post below).
Aprille, who is a Military Wife and Mother, has started her own family tradition by creating at least one new PMall.com Personalized Photo Ornament each Christmas.
She remembers her first ornament fondly as it was the first Christmas she spent with her husband.
Then there are the ornaments she personalized with the words “Almost Together” to capture the heartbreaking Christmas that she and her son had to celebrate without their husband and father because he was deployed.
Last year she decided that her “Almost Together” ornament needed a sequel so she personalized a new ornament that featured a beautiful family photo and the words, “Together Forever” to celebrate the Christmas they shared as a family.
She was thrilled to be able to serendipitously capture that moment and turn that into another ornament that she will always treasure.
We are so thankful to Aprille for sharing her story and the photos of all her ornaments and we are honored that we are able to play a small role in her beautiful new Christmas tradition!
Check out Aprille’s full story, ”Our Christmas Ornament Tradition” from her Beautiful In His Time Blog, by clicking the previous link. When you get to her blog you’ll be able to see photos of all the ornaments she has personalized and you’ll be able to hear the touching story straight from her!
We’d like to say Thank You again to Aprille for sharing her story and if any other PMall fans out there have stories about any of the gifts they’ve personalized from PMall.com we’d love to hear them! Email your stories to email@example.com.
This time of year feels like the calm just before the storm … it’s that little bit of time before the hectic Christmas shopping season begins. That’s why we wanted to remind you that now is a great time to start searching for, planning and taking pictures for the photo calendars you’ll be creating as Christmas gifts this year.
PMall.com’s Personalized Calendar Department is full of great design options for you to choose from so you can find the theme that best suits your personal taste.
Check out the Seasons Change Photo Wall Calendar (at left), which is always a customer favorite or take a look at our other photo calendars, including our newest design, the Picture Perfect Photo Wall Calendar.
Once you’ve selected your favorite calendar design it’s time to start uploading your photos! We always think the calendars turn out best when the theme of the photos compliments the month it will be shown with and since our calendars require at least 12 photos (some designs let you personalize each month with more than 1 photo), it may take some time to find the pictures that will fit perfectly with each month.
That’s why we thought we’d give you a heads up so you could start planning out your calendar now before the crazy Christmas season begins!
If you’re unsure of which photos to use for your calendar, take a look at the following photos we thought we’d share to help you get inspired:
A shot of the kids in their red, white and blue outfits watching the 4th of July parade would be the perfect photo for July:
Goofy faces can make the cutest photos. This silly photo of the kids on their first day of school is great to use for August or September:
It’s not too late to take a photo of your kids playing in the leaves, which would work well for October or November:
Find the photo you took of the kids making a snowman or snow angels from last winter and pair it with January:
We hope we’ve been able to inspire you to create your own personalized photo calendar now while you have time before the Christmas rush! If you have any photo ideas for certain months please share them in the comment section!
