With National Chili Day being celebrated Thursday, February 23rd and with the winter’s “chili” weather hitting us hard, it seems like now is the perfect time for A Personal Touch to host a chili recipe contest!
People can be very particular and territorial about their chili. Depending on where you live, some people say that real chili isn’t made with beans, while in other parts of town they’ll say it’s not chili unless it has beans. And then there are the people who like to have fun with traditional recipes and add a new twist ingredient to them like cinnamon or even chocolate!
But no chili is complete without the main staples like meat, onions and tomatoes – all of which are ingredients that require a whole lot of prep work. That’s why the winner of the contest will be awarded their very own personalized You Name It© Bamboo Cutting Board so that they have a beautiful place that they can use to create their masterpiece!
Since all “chili purists” seem to claim that their masterpiece recipe is the best in the world … we want to hear why your recipe really is the best for the PersonalizationMall.com “My Chili is the Best Because …” Recipe Contest!
To enter, all you have to do is send an email with the subject line, “Chili Contest” to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- In a few sentences, tell us what it is about your chili recipe that sets it apart from all the rest.
- Please include your full name and email address so we know how to contact you if you’re the winner.
Just make sure to have your emails sent to us before the deadline at midnight on Thursday, February 23rd. We will announce the winner of the contest, who will be judged by creativity and uniqueness and selected by the A Personal Touch Staff, here at the blog on February 24th.
We look forward to hearing all your special recipes … our mouths are already drooling!
After drooling over all the entries, the A Personal Touch staff finally narrowed it down and found our favorite recipe!

Thanksgiving is only a few days away … do you have your holiday to-do list prepared? With all the grocery shopping and cooking that comes with making a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner for your family, it can be hard to focus on anything else that day. That’s why we here at PersonalizationMall.com’s gifting blog, A Personal Touch, have prepared a couple easy Turkey Day tips for you to use in order to make this Thanksgiving even more special than years past!
Thanksgiving day is a great day for family photos, especially because people tend to include pictures taken that day in their family Christmas cards. It’s important to have the little ones looking their best, but it can be hard to put them in a pricey outfit knowing that it soon will be covered in gravy, cranberry sauce and stuffing! That’s why it’s a great idea to personalize our adorable I’m Stuffed© Youth T-Shirt for your son or daughter! You can have their first name personalized under our boy or girl turkey design on an infant t-shirt, infant romper, infant bib or toddler hooded sweatshirt, too! They’ll not only look festive and cute in their turkey t-shirt, they’ll be thankful they’re dressed in comfortable attire while they are running around playing with their siblings and cousins!
We came across a great idea from Parents.com that offered the idea for this Turkey centerpiece project that can help remind children of the real meaning of Thanksgiving. It’s a simple project that you can do with your kids that also can be used as a beautiful centerpiece for your table.
You start by making the body of the turkey with a Styrofoam ball that you can paint brown or cover in brown yarn. Next you attach a smaller Styrofoam ball that you have already painted or covered in yarn and it will be the turkey’s head. Don’t forget to add the eyes, beak and red gobble neck! Then use different color construction paper to cut out feathers for the turkey. Tape toothpicks to the back of the feathers and leave one blank feather at each place setting on the table with a crayon or marker. Once your guests arrive, or when you’re sitting down for dinner, ask each guest to write down something that they are thankful for on their feather. Before eating, every one can go around one by one and say what they wrote down on their feather. Once they have announced what they are thankful for, they can stick it into the main turkey body so that by the time everyone has had their turn, you’ll have a beautiful and full-feathered turkey centerpiece! It’s a great idea, isn’t it?
We hope these tips have helped you plan for a special Thanksgiving Day with your family. Do you have any tips or Turkey Day projects you can share with the A Personal Touch readers? If so, please comment below … we’d love to hear them!
We recently asked our Facebook Fans which Thanksgiving dish they were most looking forward to - can you guess which dish the majority of fans voted for? Stuffing!
Stuffing is one of those scrumptious foods that is made from a recipe that people love to tinker with.
There are stuffing recipes that call for apples and cranberries like Paula Dean’s, or there are also some that call for cornbread and sausage like allrecipes.com, and who could forget the ongoing preference battle between crunchy or moist! With all the endless possibilities, PersonalizationMall.com wants to know, “What’s the Secret to Your Stuffing?”
That’s right! We’re offering another recipe contest right here on the A Personal Touch blog! We want you to email your Thanksgiving stuffing recipe to email@example.com … don’t forget to include the secret ingredients that make your recipe stand out from all the rest!
The A Personal Touch staff will read all the entries and pick their favorite recipe and the winner will receive their very own Family Favorites© Personalized Recipe Box that they will fill with a set of matching Family Favorites© 4×6 Personalized Recipe Cards so that they can beautifully store their award-winning stuffing recipe!
To enter, please send an email with the subject line “Stuffing Recipe” to firstname.lastname@example.org before Midnight on Tuesday November 29th, 2011 with the following information:
- Your full name
- You email address for where you’d like to be contacted if you win
- Your stuffing recipe, along with a note explaining which item is your special ingredient
And that’s it! You should have enough time to find your favorite recipes (or borrow them from Mom at Thanksgiving ) and enter them into the contest. The winner will be announced here that week. We can’t wait to hear all of your yummy secrets!
Good luck to everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!
